Each card features either black and white or full-color printing, printed on durable 14 pt (95 Bright C2S) cardstock—an industry standard for thickness and reliability. Rounded corners are an optional touch, with a 1/4" radius for added style. This 14pt matte paper ensures robust quality, ideal for networking and making a memorable impression with your cards.
General File Preparation Guidelines:
To achieve the best print results, download the guides provided in this folder before submitting your project. Always delete hidden layers not meant to be printed, such as setup guides or other concealed artwork, to ensure a flawless output for your matte cards.
Submit all jobs, including multi-page designs, as a single PDF file with consistent page sizes. Ensure correct orientation for your files by reviewing the File Orientation Guides included within the images for your specific order. These cards accept all standard layouts and are produced to high industry standards.
Avoid borders close to the trim edge; even small shifts in trimming can make them look uneven or off-center. Maintain a 1/8" bleed on all sides, and place crucial text and designs within the safety margin. A larger safety margin is wise to avoid cutting off important information.
All PDFs must be high-resolution, with images in CMYK color at 300 DPI. For black text, use C0, M0, Y0, K100. For deeper, richer black areas, use C30, M20, Y20, K100. Using only K100 can make black elements look dark gray instead of bold black. Adding CMY values boosts depth and minimizes overprint problems. For small black text, stick to single-color black (K100) to prevent registration issues.
All fonts should be embedded or outlined. To ensure color accuracy, submit files in CMYK color mode unless your project specifically needs RGB or PMS colors.
Thin White Text on Rich Black Backgrounds:
While high manufacturing standards are always maintained, some minor misalignment can occur in printing. Thin white text set against rich black backgrounds may bleed or lose sharpness. Use the C30, M20, Y20, K100 formula for best results, and avoid heavier ink builds like C60, M60, Y60, K100. Increasing the thickness of white knockout text and applying swelling—slightly enlarging knockout areas—can improve clarity.
